Avalon Park Community Area shares it North-East border with South Shore Community Area and South Chicago Community Area. Beginning at 76th St (7600S) and the Chicago Skyway (approximately 1200E), head east to South Chicago Ave, around 1300E and 7600S, the boundary follows South Chicago Ave to 87th St (8700S) at the 2400E coordinate. The South border, common to Calumet Heights Community Area, runs along 87th St from 1200E to 2400E. The West limit, shared with Chatham Community Area and Greater Grand Crossing Community Area, begins at the Chicago Skyway and 76th St, and it wanders South to meet up with 87th St at 8700S and 1200E.
