Chatham Community Area is just South of Greater Grand Crossing Community Area. The northern border begins at Wallace St (600W) and 79th St (7900S) and moves East to the 1150E coordinate and the Metra Electric Line. The East boundary, shared with Avalon Park Community Area and Burnside Community Area, meanders South from 1150E and 7900S to meet up with 87th St (8700S) at the 1200E coordinate, then follows 87th St East to the Metra Line again, and, very roughly, the border follows the Metra Electric Line to Burnside Ave and Cottage Grove Rd at 9450S and 800E. The South and West boundary, across which are neighboring Roseland Community Area and Auburn Gresham Community Area, picks up at Burnside Ave and Cottage Grove Rd and moves NW along sections of Burnside Ave to 91st St (9100S) at Indiana Ave (200E). West on 91st St to Holland Rd, NW to Stewart Ave (400W), North to 83rd St (8300S), West to Wallace St (600W), and North back to 79th St.
