East Side Community Area is second only to its southern neighbor, Hegewisch Community Area in being the most South-East Community Area. The North border begins where the Calumet River meets Lake Michigan and follows the river SW to 95th St (9500S) at 3300E and is shared with South Chicago Community Area. The West boundary begins at 95th St and the Calumet River, and follows the river South to the 3200E coordinate on 106th St (10600S), East to Buffalo Ave (3300E), then SW to 107th St (10700S) and Burley Ave (3224E), then South to 3224E and 117th St (11700S) and is shared with South Deering Community Area. The southern limit, from 3224E and 117th St, moves East to Avenue O (3427E), North to 116th St (11600S), East to the 3830E coordinate, North to 112th St (11200S), and East to State Line Rd (4100E).
