Irving Park Community Area is bordered on the West by Portage Park Community Area. The Western edge moves South along Cicero Ave (4800W) from Lawrence Ave (4800N) to the Metra Milwaukee District North Line at approximately 4500N and follows the Metra line to Irving Park Rd (4000N) where it heads South along Kenton Ave (4600W) to Roscoe St (3400N), West to Knox Ave (4634W), South to School St (3300N), East to Kenton Ave, and finishing at Belmont Ave (3200N). Irving Park Community Area's common border with Albany Park Community Area to the North begins at Lawrence and Cicero Aves, East to Kostner Ave (4400W), South to Elston Ave, SE to Montrose Ave (4400N), and East to the North Branch of the Chicago River. The southern limit starts at Kenton Ave and Belmont Ave and moves East to Pulaski (4000W), North to Addison (3600N), and East to the river; and is shared with Hermosa Community Area and Avondale Community Area. The East border, the North Branch of the Chicago River, is common with North Center Community Area.
