South Deering Community Area is the largest of the Chicago Community Areas and is on the far South-Side. The West boundary, common to Pullman Community Area and Riverdale Community Area, starts at 9450S and 1450E, approximately, and moves SE to Stony Island Ave (1600E) at 9600S. The border continues South on Stony Island Ave and then the Bishop Ford Expressway around to 130th St (13000S) near the 1600E coordinate. The South boundary, from here, moves East on 130th St to Torrence Ave (2628E), North to the Calumet River, North, on the river, to 12400S and 2732E, roughly, then moves SE to finish at 3224E and 13000S. The East edge begins at 95th St and the Calumet River, near 3300E, and follows the river South to the 3200E coordinate on 106th St (10600S), East to Buffalo Ave (3300E), then SW to 107th St (10700S) and Burley Ave (3224E), then South to 3224E and 13000S. The East edge is shared with Hegewisch Community Area and East Side Community Area. The North boundary, common to Calumet Heights Community Area, follows the 9450S coordinate East to Yates Blvd (2400E), then South to 95th St, and follows 95th St East to the 3200E coordinate.
