South Lawndale Community Area shares its northern boundary with North Lawndale Community Area. Beginning at 4600W & 2500S, approximately Kenton Ave and the Metra BNSF Railway Line, respectively, follow the Metra Line East Springfield Ave (3900W), North to Cermak Rd (2200S), East to Trumbull Ave (3434W), North to 21st st (2100S), East to Albany Ave (3100W), North to 19th St (1900S), East to the Metra Line, then follow the Metra Line East, again, to the 2500W coordinate. The 2500W coordinate is also the eastern limit of South Lawndale Community Area and is shared with Lower West Side Community Area. The West edge follows the 4600W coordinate between the Metra BNSF Railway Line and the Stevenson Expressway. From here, the Stevenson Expressway spans the breadth of the South border from 4600W & 4050S to 2500W & 3250S and its neighbors Archer Heights Community Area and Brighton Park Community Area.
