West Garfield Park Community Area borders Humboldt Park Community Area to the North along Kinzie St (400N) and the Metra Union Pacific West Line from Kenton Ave (4600W) to Hamlin Ave (3800W). The South boundary and neighboring North Lawndale Community Area begins at 4600W and 5th Ave (approximately 950S) and moves NE along 5th Ave to Kildare Ave (4300W), South to Taylor St (1000S), and East to Independence Blvd (3800W). The western edge follows the Austin Community Area border; intermittent segments of Kenton Ave along the 4600W coordinate. The East limit, and East Garfield Park Community Area, is along the 3800W coordinate and follows Hamlin Blvd as it turns into Independence Blvd after crossing the Congress and Eisenhower Parkways.
