The Big Oaks Neighborhood is part of the Norwood Park Community Area and, as its name suggests, real estate in the Big Oaks Neighborhood is displayed on peaceful, tree-lined streets. Architecture of the area is classic Victorian with notable farm houses. Most homes enjoy large lots with ample vegetation. In the 50's, the construction of the Kennedy Expressway threatened the neighborhood, but residents fought to save the area with success; the Kennedy Expressway would bypass the small enclave.
